A mobile app promoting sustainable living by sourcing local & seasonal foods
DESIGN BRIEF
Climate change is accelerating and more and more people want to contribute a sustainable lifestyle. Other than switching to a plant-based diet, reducing food miles of the products we consume also lowers individual carbon footprint. The goodies app was designed in the course of Prototyping Techniques at the University of Miami, which help users discover locally sourced, seasonal foods by location.

DESIGN & ITERATE
After going through several rounds of design critique with fellow designers and the instructor, the concept was tested with selected users. I was able to prioritize design ideas and identify usability problems through the rapid iterations of wireframes, which helped me prioritize design ideas and identify problems with UI structures.
For example, in previous versions, users didn't need to input their location immediately. The prompt only appeared after they tap into the produce page. It then displays information about local farmer's markets. A number of users reported difficulty locating the markets, so I prioritized the feature. Nevertheless, I kept the option to search within the produce page since some users liked being able to explore if a fruit was seasonal / local in another place.
